One quick post today before I head out to be in our amazing community – I want to set the record straight on a couple of things.
First and foremost, I have no connection with and no allegiance to anyone in the current city administration, up to and including mayor and council. When I ran for the open seat last year to fill Zappata’s unexpired term it was because I knew I had the skill set and the determination to drive our city towards great economic growth while curbing further high-density development. No one knew me and I didn’t (still don’t) run in any social circles. Yet, I worked my butt off last year and thanks to so many of you who supported my vision and my experience, I earned over 20% of the vote! Last year, I met with as many people as I could within the city – including all the department heads in a meeting my opponent did not attend – to learn what their thoughts were as to our opportunities, as a whole, to be better. My commitment to you then is my commitment to you now.
Second, fiscal responsibility. As your only candidate with an education and background in accounting with experience in budgeting, expense management, profit generation, as well as fraud detection and prevention, I will bring a level of fiduciary responsibility this city hasn’t seen in quite a while. I will ensure our tax dollars are managed correctly, cut waste, and improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our city.
Today is a beautiful day to live in Roswell! Get out if you can, it’s going to get cold this week!
