Today we recognize Division Chief Brian Wolfe for 30 years of service with the Roswell Fire Department.

Thirty years of sound decisions, high standards, and steady leadership. The kind of career that shapes a department from the inside out, in the policies that hold up under pressure, the officers who came up under his guidance, and the operational discipline that carries through every shift.

Chief Wolfe has spent three decades holding the line on standards and expecting the same from those around him. Roswell is stronger for it.

Thank you, Chief, for 30 years of service.

Thirty years. Today we recognize Captain Bill Logan for three decades of service with the Roswell Fire Department.

Since 1996, Captain Logan has answered the call through countless shifts, calls, and moments that shaped this department and the community it serves. Thirty years takes commitment, consistency, and quiet leadership. The kind that shows up early, stays late, and trains the next generation along the way.

Thank you, Captain Logan, for thirty years of service to Roswell. We are grateful to serve alongside you.

Canton Street was packed last night! Thanks to everyone who came out for Alive in Roswell.

A night like this takes more than music and food vendors. Long before the first guest arrives, the work is already underway. Last night, a K9 team from Forsyth County Sheriff's Office supported the event. Crews from Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency set barricades to protect pedestrian areas from vehicle traffic. Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency (AFCEMA) supported resource coordination among responding agencies, and a drone team from Fulton County Emergency Services provided overwatch and situational awareness for command staff on the ground. Roswell Fire, Roswell Police Department, and City departments were staged across the venue, providing on-scene emergency response, law enforcement coverage, and operational support throughout the night.

Most of that work happens out of sight, and that's the point. When the night runs smoothly, it's because dozens of professionals from across the region planned, coordinated, and showed up.

The partners change from event to event, but the commitment doesn't. Thank you to everyone who stood with us last night, and to our community that filled the streets.

Roswell Fire is growing, and the response has been incredible!

Applications to join the department continue to climb, and the past few weeks, our field crews conducted panel interviews with another strong group of candidates. We are in year four of a five-year transition to a full-time fire department, and we are building on a strong foundation. To anyone considering a career in the fire service, take a look at what is happening here.

We are grateful for the leadership and community support helping the Roswell Fire Department achieve its vision of becoming an innovative, world-class public safety organization.

Overnight the Roswell Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in the Lake House at Harbor Landing. Before crews arrived, working smoke alarms activated and alerted the occupants, giving them the time they needed to get out safely.

Arriving units found light smoke coming from a third floor apartment. Crews located a small fire in a bedroom, knocked it down, and checked the rest of the apartment to make sure the fire had not spread. Neighboring apartments were evacuated as a precaution while crews worked.

Three residents and their dog were displaced. The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Safety reminder: Candles are a common cause of home fires. Always blow them out before leaving a room or going to sleep, and keep them well away from bedding, curtains, paper, and anything else that can catch fire. And test your smoke alarms regularly. They give you and your family the time you need to get out safely.

Truck 21 spent some time with our youngest neighbors this week! These visits are a highlight for the crew, but they also do real work: kids who meet a firefighter in daylight are far more likely to come to us, not hide, in an emergency.

🔥 Home tip: Practice your family fire escape plan twice a year. Pick two ways out of every room and a meeting spot outside. When seconds count, that practice is what gets everyone out.

Heat is one of the most dangerous hazards we face in Georgia summers.

Know the difference:
Heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea. Move to shade, loosen clothing, sip cool water.

Heat stroke: confusion, stumbling, unconscious. Call 911. Cool with water or ice while you wait.

Check on older neighbors, kids, and anyone working outside this week.

Join us in congratulating Kevin Contreras on his promotion to Fire Apparatus Operator.

Moving into the FAO role is a big step. It puts a member behind the wheel and at the pump panel, responsible for getting the crew there safely and putting water and equipment where they are needed. The job takes trust, skill, and steady hands.

Kevin has earned this promotion. Surrounded by his crew and command staff, he was pinned with his new badge and collar brass in keeping with fire service tradition.

Congratulations, FAO Contreras!
