On average, it takes just 3 days from a caregiver’s first phone call to their child’s first appointment with us.

Kids don’t have time to wait. Thanks to our team and volunteers, most of them don’t have to.

Happy National Grandparents Day! Today we’re especially thinking of the grandparents in our Grands Raising Grands program: the ones who thought their parenting days were behind them and stepped back in anyway, without a second thought.

A lot of people assume foster care means strangers and paperwork. In reality, a large share of our families are kinship families: grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends who stepped up so a child could stay with someone they already know.

In Georgia, for every 1 child in kinship foster care within the system, there are 28 children in relative care outside it, meaning most of these families have no access to formal support at all.

For some children, a costume or special Christmas outfit is so much more than clothing. It’s a chance to feel included, celebrated and special.

That’s why all the kids we serve not only get to pick out normal clothes suited for fall and winter, but also a costume and special holiday outfits.
