ENMU-Roswell established the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program in 1986 offering EMT Basic and Intermediate classes. In 1988, the program became the first decentralized Paramedic program outside of Albuquerque in conjunction with the University of New Mexico EMS Academy. In 1991, ENMU-R’s EMS program became independent from the EMS Academy, becoming New Mexico’s second New Mexico EMS Bureau

EMS Education Program. ENMU-Roswell became accredited by the Joint Review Committee of EMT-Paramedic Programs (now called Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions) in 1994. Since the EMS program’s beginning, more than 10,000 students have gone through its programs or classes. This includes over 750 First Responder, 2000 EMT-Basic, 900 EMT-Intermediate, and 750 Paramedic students who have graduated.

As of the new year, all candidates are now permitted to use a site-provided calculator on their ALS Psychomotor Examination.

This was a feature many candidates requested and we are happy to share this update.

Ahhhh. I didn’t have a photo of this cake! I did but it was upside down and. It very good! Anyway as the end of December marked the end of your time here, we do wish you the best in all your future endeavors and we will miss you dearly! All the “it will only take me two minutes” that were all morning long… and all the middle of the night texts to explain fisdap something….to uhhh I got in a wreck from students on cliniclas… yea you will be truly missed. It will not be the same that’s for sure. But we all know when the time is right, it’s time to move onto whatever lies ahead. So good luck and may God bless you in your endeavors!

Welcome to a New Year!

Students are invited to enroll into the new year by registering for the upcoming spring semester at ENMU-Roswell. Students who register on campus in the Student Services Center, January 4-6 will receive a $20 bookstore gift card. By popular request, all candidates will be able to use a site-provided calculator on their psychomotor examination starting January 1, 2022. Calculators will be part of the required equipment list. Exam Coordinators can find more information in their manual here: https://zcu.io/6yPL
