Join us Tuesday, May 19, at 2:00pm at the Rothsay Baptist Church for a presentation bringing the legendary deeds of the 1st Minnesota Regiment to life.

Never Forgotten: Col. William Colvill, MN's Civil War Hero - with Historian and Author Steve Hoffbeck.

The program is offered free-of-charge thanks in part to funding from the Minnesota Legacy Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. Books will be available for purchase with a book signing following the presentation.
About Author Steve Hoffbeck:

Our speaker, Steve Hoffbeck, is a self-described “old but lively” Minnesotan who grew up as a farmer’s son near Morgan. His first book, The Haymakers, was a Minnesota Book Award winner. Hoffbeck, a recently retired professor (Minnesota State University Moorhead), and his wife, Dianne, live in Barnesville, MN, and have four adult children and seven grandchildren.

Lake Agassiz Regional Library's 2026 Summer Reading Program is almost here, and we’re taking you on an adventure across the ages! Whether you’re exploring ancient kingdoms, sailing the high seas, or warping into the future, your library is the ultimate time machine this summer.

The Details:
📅 When: June 1 – July 31
👥 Who: Open to all youth ages 0–18
🏆 How: Read for 20 days to win prizes and enter a grand prize drawings

How to Start Your Journey:
1️⃣ Grab Your Log: Stop by your local library to pick up your official reading log.
2️⃣ Track Your Reading: Track your time read throughout the summer.
3️⃣ Claim Your Loot: Bring your completed log back to the library for prizes!
