There's a Code Purple air quality alert currently in effect due to Canadian wildfire smoke affecting the region.

What Code Purple Means:

Air Quality Index (AQI): 201-300 (Very Unhealthy)

Health Message:

Everyone may begin to experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Recommendations for Those with Respiratory Problems:
- Limit outdoor activities - particularly strenuous exercise or prolonged exposure
- Stay indoors when possible, especially during peak pollution hours
- Keep windows closed and use air conditioning if available
- Use HEPA air filters if you have them
- Monitor symptoms and seek medical attention if breathing becomes difficult

Sensitive Groups Include:

For over 60 years the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company has placed flowers on the graves of those who fought in our wars over the years. The graves are marked with flag holders which indicates which war they fought in.
There are 5 cemeteries in Rothsville which we visit every year. Today we again placed red carnations on those graves in honor of our departed soldiers.

This is Sheri. She is one of our full time paid staff. December she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had surgery to remove it. She is home recovering. She has multiple appointments a week for rehabilitation. She states that bills are starting to come in. A little help for her and her family would be great!
