‼️💔 Abandoned Dog Found – Community Help Urgently Needed 💔‼️ 12/25/25

A dog was discovered earlier this afternoon along the bike path from the Schenectady County Community College end, approximately a quarter mile in and about 10 feet off the trail. Nearby was a box that appears to have once been taped shut, suggesting this dog was confined inside it and somehow managed to escape. The dog was found curled up only a few feet away, too weak to go farther.
The condition of this dog is heartbreaking. The dog is emaciated, covered in wounds and pressure sores, and clearly suffered for a long time. This was not an accident—this was prolonged neglect.
The dog is now receiving emergency care at Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital, where staff are doing everything they can to help. Then will be with Rottie Empire Rescue for their stray hold and then transferred to their rescue. This dog was placed in spot not meant to be found.
