Today we’d like to introduce you to our shining star 🌟 Jennifer Anthony! Here is a little about what she does and 7 ways to get to know her below!! Thanks for everything you do! 🙌🏽

Jennifer says “The picture of myself is with the Grab & Go Breakfast bags that we bring up to the front of the school for the Internet Cafe Students. I write positive messages on the bags with the hope that it will brighten at least one, if not all, of students day!

1. I started as a sub in the 2017-2018 school year. This is my 4th school year with LCPS

2. My primary role has changed just this year. I have worked hard & I have been promoted to The Woodgrove Lead position.

3. My favorite part of the job hands down is making students smile & brightening up their day. Also receiving their positive feedback helps the team know we are doing a great job.

4. Yummy Mac & Cheese is my favorite menu item. It comes with a fresh baked dinner roll. This is a student favorite as well.

5. I believe one of my strengths would be organization. I find the more organized a kitchen is the better functionality the kitchen has.

6. I love to dance!

7. My favorite memory is when my manager Genelda & I dressed up as hot dogs for Halloween one year & seeing all the students smiling & laughing coming through the lunch line during service.

8. I enjoy doing cross stitch needle point.

👉 School Nutrition Manager Spotlight 👈

Wanda Teeter, manager of Douglass Community School, has been with LCPS for over 6 years! She enjoys the cooking 👨‍🍳 aspect of the job and being around kids 🙌. She attributes her success as manager to her people skills 💬. Her favorite work memory is her first Thanksgiving 🦃 lunch as manager because it's one big family at Douglass. Wanda's favorite #lcpscafe meal is the white chicken chili 🥘. In her free time, she likes being a part of a pool league 🎱(she's good at it too!) and playing with her grandchildren 👶.

Thank you for your hard work Wanda!

Please give us our nacho grande Thursday's back!!!
Heartfelt thank you to all working at Loudoun County School Nutrition Services. Your steadfast dedication to the community is amazing.
I am incredibly proud of my former managers, their staffs, admins and SNS office for consistently trying innovative ideas that provide great meals at school that help students be ready to learn. Wings out and soaring!
Will lunch be served on site this year at Lincoln Elementary? The parents would like to see equitable food choices for their children and for their kids to eat warm food with sauces off real plates, not in a dry, tasteless form from plastic containers. We still have not seen any real data that this situation actually saves a dime (despite this being requested by several parents and the PTO). As the only school in Loudoun County to have food shipped in for elementary kids we consider this a very unfair treatment.
Learn more about the food system and ways it is impacting public health at CSU's Lillian Fountain Smith Nutrition Conference, May15-16, in Fort Collins, CO! Click on the link below to register, and to take a look at our speakers and program. http://www.fshn.chhs.colostate.edu/outreach/lfs/
This is my favorite fb page for school lunch! You do an incredible job and your pictures are also so beautiful. Bravo!!
The decision to truck food to Lincoln Elementary is the most ridiculous move I have ever seen any school system make.
I would like to know who made the decision to deprive only one elementary school in Loudoun county of on site, freshly prepared and cooked meals (Lincoln Elementary, Purcellville)? I would also like to see the actual data on how much money is really saved by this action. Our school has now has a brand new $4500 oven that is NOT being used, meanwhile we have kids forgetting to order lunch who then have no food for the day, with no back up supplies on site. This seems like a totally well thought out and rational decision. I’m sure no one who was part of this decision-making process would want their child to be treated this way. The pared down food options are a disgrace, are far, far from balanced and repeat on a loop weekly. Shame on you! Parents are waiting to see data to support your actions! This is a matter of child welfare, equity and safety. Way to go for showing our kids a variety of healthy eating options! Kids should be able to see the food that they wish to purchase , not check it off a menu like a hospital stay!
