Village of Round Lake Park Social Media Comment and Terms of Use Policy
Comments containing any of the following content will not be permitted on the Village’s social media sites and are subject to removal and/or restriction by the administrator of this site or his/her designees:
1. Obscene, sexual, or pornographic content and/or language
2. Content that promotes discrimination on the basis
of race, age, religion, gender
3. Content that violates a legal ownership interest (copyright or trademark)
4. Threats to any person, incites or promotes violence
5. Conduct that violates any federal, state, or local law or encourages illegal activity
6. Promotion of any commercial activities not related to Village business, except for links to websites that are owned and/or maintained by the Village of Round Lake Park.
7. Spam or links, except for links to sites/pages that are owned by, maintained by and/or affiliated with the Village of Round Lake Park
8. Content that advocates for or against a candidate, referendum, or campaign
9. Off-topic discussion unrelated in any manner to Village services or programs provided, however, that any submissions critical of Village issues or policies or of Village officials not be subject to deletion unless otherwise prohibited by this comment policy. A comment posted by a member of the public on any Village social media site is the opinion of the poster only, and publication of a comment does not imply endorsement of, or agreement by, the Village, nor do the comments necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the Village. The Village reserves the right to deny access to Village social media sites for any individual who violates the Village’s social media policy, at any time and without prior notice. We do not allow information intended to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems. You participate at your own risk, taking personal responsibility for your comments, your username and any information provided. All comments posted to any Village social media site are bound by that social media providers terms of use and the Village reserves the right to report any violation of those terms of use to the provider with the intent of that provider taking appropriate and reasonable responsive action in accordance with their policies. Users who enter private or personal information on Village social media sites do so at their own risk, and the Village is not responsible for any damages resulting from the public display of, or failure to remove, private or personal information.
