Round Lake Area Schools were Round Lake Ready in August!

77.4% of our students are attending school consistently! What does consistent attendance mean? According to the Illinois State Board of Education, students are considered consistently attending when they are present for at least 90% of their enrolled school days. That means being at school and ready to learn at least 9 out of every 10 school days! Every day matters. Being in school gives students more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate, and grow. We’re proud of our students and families for making attendance a priority!

This month, as part of our Round Lake Ready Attendance Campaign, we want to highlight the importance of being in school every day.

Missing just two days of school per month can mean your student is chronically absent, which could make it difficult for them to keep up academically.

We know students sometimes may need to miss school because of illness or unexpected circumstances. That's why our goal is not perfect attendance - it's consistent attendance.

When students are in school, they are able to make friendships, practice what they've learned, and participate in lessons and activities that can spark new skills and hobbies. Together, we can help make sure every student is present, engaged, and ready to learn—because every day counts!

Este mes, como parte de nuestra campaña de asistencia Listos Round Lake, queremos resaltar la importancia de estar en clases todos los días.

Perder tan solo dos días de clases al mes significa que su estudiante es "faltista crónico", y tal vez se le haga dificil mantenerse al día académicamente.

Sabemos que los estudiantes a veces necesitan faltar a clases por enfermedad o circunstancias inesperadas. Por eso nuestra meta no es la asistencia perfecta sino la asistencia constante.

Cuando los alumnos están en la escuela, fortalecen sus amistades, practican lo aprendido y participan en lecciones y actividades que le enseñan nuevas habilidades y pasatiempos. Juntos podemos asegurar que cada estudiante esté presente, participe y esté listo para aprender, ¡porque cada día cuenta!

The donation is made possible through Amazon’s Together, We Give (TWG) Back-to-School Campaign, an initiative that aims to equip more than 60,000 students nationwide with the tools they need for a successful school year.

Round Lake High School's Guitar Club will be performing at Village of Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center's Elote Fest this Saturday at 5pm! Come out and cheer on the club as they prepare for a new year of performances. 🎵🎸
