Last evening Round Lake was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Cass Ct. Following reports that it was endangering the structure, Car 540 requested Malta Ridge be put on standby for a possible response and later upgraded the request to one ETA. Arriving units found a vehicle fire that was starting to advance up the siding of the apartment and quickly extinguished it. This afternoon Round Lake with Saratoga Springs as our FAST assignment were dispatched to a reported structure fire on West Drive. Car 540 requested a second alarm while in route and arriving units found a well involved structure fire. Neighbors notified command of a severe hoarding condition and a possible entrapment. Crews attempted to make entry to the rear of the structure but we blocked due to the hoarding conditions. Soon after the building suffered a catastrophic collapse of the first and second floor. All firefighters we accounted for and there were no injuries. Additional resources were called including an excavator from DE Flynn to assist with pulling apart the debris. No one was found in the home and the resident was later discovered to be out of town. Operations were complicated by a hydrant failure. A tanker shuttle was quickly established to supplement water supply. The cause is under investigation by the Saratoga County Cause and Origin Team. We would like to thank all of the agencies who assisted.

Less than a month from now will be the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
We hope that you will join us for a memorial service on Friday September 11th at 6:30 PM at our main station at 13 Curry Road, Round Lake NY.
We will be honoring the 343 fallen FDNY firefighters and the 400+ members who have died from WTC-related illnesses.

This evening Round Lake was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on I 87 southbound, south of exit 12. Arriving units found a working tractor trailer fire. Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company was requested for a tanker and assistance closing I 87 southbound. The fire was quickly extinguished and the road reopened.

Join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of our 1926 fire engine and help us raise the necessary funds to repair it. On this special anniversary, 100% of the profits from this clothing sale will go directly to the efforts to repair our engine and display it at events and other functions for years to come. The Round Lake Hose Company, located in Saratoga County, NY proudly displays Engine #3 as a symbol of our department, which originated in 1886. The engine was constructed by the O.J. Childs manufacturing company right here in New York. This engine served its community for decades and still pumps water today. Although it was moved out of service just about 50 years ago, it stands tall as a visual reminder of the pride and history of the fire service in America.
