🚨 TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

The Round Rock ISD Police Department is hosting MHO CIT – Train the Trainer, an advanced course designed to certify officers to instruct Mental Health Officer (TCOLE 4201)–Crisis Intervention Team training (TCOLE 1850).

Participants will strengthen crisis response knowledge while developing the skills needed to teach de-escalation, communication strategies, and the use of community resources. Attendees will also receive documentation such as lesson plans, student manuals, and Power Point Presentations.

📅 Dates: July 13-17th, 2026
📍 Location: Raymond E Hartfield Performing Arts Center
👮 Who should attend: TCOLE certified Instructors or designated trainers

These outstanding officers were recognized at the RRISD School Board meeting for their swift response, and subsequent thorough investigation, which helped keep staff members safe at the Transportation East Complex. The Round Rock ISD Police Department is proud to launch it's First Offender Program—a proactive step focused on accountability, education, and second chances. This program gives eligible students an opportunity to learn, grow, and make better choices while staying connected to their school community. 💙📚👮‍♀️

The First Offender Program gives students the opportunity to clear the felony charge from their record by taking education courses and regular check-ins with SROs.

Good afternoon, Round Rock ISD Community,

All Round Rock ISD classes and before- and after-school activities are canceled for tomorrow, Jan. 27. All district facilities and offices will also be closed.

After getting reports from our maintenance and transportation teams throughout the district, most shaded roads and sidewalks remain extremely dangerous for drivers and walkers. This includes many of the parking lots, sidewalks and smaller streets leading into our campuses.

Our primary concern when making a decision to close schools is ensuring the safety of our community—our staff who drive in from throughout the area, our students who walk to school and those who would be waiting at bus stops in sub-freezing temperatures.

We know that temperatures will rise and expect that the ice will melt by tomorrow afternoon, and we anticipate a regular school day for Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Todas las clases y actividades antes y después de la jornada escolar en Round Rock ISD están canceladas para mañana, 27 de enero. Todas las escuelas y oficinas del distrito también permanecerán cerradas.

Después de recibir informes de nuestros equipos de mantenimiento y transporte en todo el distrito, la mayoría de las carreteras y aceras en zonas sombreadas siguen siendo extremadamente peligrosas para conductores y peatones. Esto incluye muchos de los estacionamientos, aceras y calles secundarias que conducen a nuestros planteles.

Due to inclement weather, all Round Rock ISD classes, before- and after-school activities, and all facilities and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 26.

Cancelling school is not a decision we make in isolation. We are in constant contact with the National Weather Service and local, county, state, and municipal agencies. Families, staff, and community members are encouraged to visit our Inclement Weather Protocols page for additional information.

Please take a moment to check on your neighbors and friends, and please be safe.

🚨 Weather Update: Ahead of the incoming inclement weather, all Round Rock ISD events this weekend are canceled, including athletics, UIL competitions and fine arts performances for Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25.

We’re closely monitoring the situation and will send any additional weather-related updates via email, social media and in the life feed section of our website.
