It's September and we are almost 4-weeks into the new school year. Time is passing quickly but you still have time to enroll your daughter in Sister B.E.E.S. With school districts tightening their budgets, schools are being challenged to do more with less. When this happens, it means some of the supportive programs are the first to go. Sister B.E.E.S. program was created for such a time as this! With our nation in crisis, and anxiety is on the rise, students are being impacted. Middle School is a challenging stage of development in and of itself. Change and making the adjustment doesn't come easy for everyone. After more than 20 years of serving as a Licensed Professional Counselor, mentor, and youth advocate, my experience has shown that when young people are given the right support, encouragement, and tools, there is no limit to what they can achieve. That’s why Sister B.E.E.S. and Real World were created. Now I have been blessed with the tremendous opportunity to partner with The Balm Counseling Center to provide these two support groups virtually!
Not only are they fun-filled and engaging, these youth support groups-help youth build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, make better decisions, develop healthy relationships, and prepare for success both in and beyond the classroom. Every young person deserves a safe space to grow, learn, and discover their potential.

Fall has finally arrived! This is just a reminder that for some individuals this is a difficult season. Please remember that also during this time 5% of the adult US population is affected by SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)? According to NIMH, millions of Americans are affected and not even know it. In addition, thousands of people have been affected by layoffs and the government shut down causing many to be in despair. Please check in on your friends and neighbors to ensure they are doing well.
