Friends,
I just learned that I lost the City Council election to the two-term incumbent. I have congratulated her and wished for her success. Although disappointed, I am hugely indebted to the tremendous support I got from my campaign team, friends, family members, neighbors, and other community members across Round Rock. You all believed in me and inspired me all along!

Special thanks to Amin Salahuddin, my campaign manager, for his mentorship and being a role model for me and to help navigate the election process. I would also like to thank my wife, Rabeya Khatun, who campaigned tirelessly for the last 2 months; Of course, kudos to my other campaign team members - Helen Finke, Mike Lombardo, Debbie Juhlke, Rubayat Khan, Abdullah Maruf, Mukit Samad, Zahed Aziz, Mamun Rahman, Munir Faisal Chowdhury - for their efforts and hard work, encouragement and optimism.

Our momentum will continue in terms of getting others involved with City Council, local School Boards, and other non-profit boards. My spirit for volunteering for the Round Rock community members will move forward with a renewed energy.

I had the opportunity to speak about my City Council campaign before the Turkish community today.
They are wonderful people with great culture and unique cuisine. I was able to sample some Turkish foods and learned about their lives here in Round Rock and nearby areas.

Please check at the Williamson County Elections website (https://apps.wilco.org/elections/default.aspx) before you head to the polls for the City Council elections. You will see a sample ballot with candidates and propositions that are on the ballot.

Those living in a MUD in and around the city will see a different ballot and will not find my name in the ballot. Just an FYI.

Austin American Statesman has published a piece today highlighting the Round Rock City Council race. In it, you will find responses to a set of questions that are important for the race.

I will be the candidate to serve all the residents of Round Rock and to keep our city as a beautiful suburb.

Campaigning for a local, nonpartisan election can be challenging. Only a few people vote in these elections, yet, as a candidate one needs to reach out to all voters in a short few weeks.
