At Veterans’ Hill Elementary, we believe that great schools are built by educators who never stop learning.

This week, members of our Guiding Coalition attended the PLC at Work® Institute by Solution Tree in San Antonio, investing their summer in learning, growing, and strengthening their leadership so we can better serve our students, staff, and families.

As we prepare for a new year of Growing Leaders, Exploring New Heights, our team is focused on bringing back high-impact strategies that will strengthen collaboration, improve student learning, and continue building a culture where every student can thrive.

We are proud of these dedicated leaders for choosing to spend their summer learning and growing together. The future is bright at VHE, and we can’t wait to put this learning into action!

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

At Veterans’ Hill Elementary, we are grateful for those who gave everything so that we may live, learn, and grow in freedom each day. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the military families who carry their loved ones’ legacy with strength and pride.

As we spend time with family and friends today, may we pause to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember the heroes who gave all for our nation. 🇺🇸

Today we wrapped up an incredible school year with our amazing staff! ❤️

We started the morning with a delicious breakfast provided by Veterans’ Hill Elementary PTA, celebrated years of service and staff recognitions, and cooled off with Fairy Freeze snow cones to end the day on a sweet note. 🍧

Most importantly, we celebrated the people who make our campus so special each and every day. Thank you to our dedicated staff for the love, hard work, and commitment you poured into our students all year long. It truly takes a team, and we are so grateful for this one.

We hope our staff enjoys a well-deserved summer filled with rest, fun, and time with loved ones. Thank you for making this such a great year together! ☀️🎉

Yesterday our staff gave one last sendoff as the buses pulled away for summer break. 🚌💛

Our halls will feel a little quieter and emptier without our kiddos. We already miss their smiles, laughter, and energy, but we are so proud of all they accomplished this year.

Have a safe and fun summer, VHE family! ☀️

From publishing parties in Kindergarten to our Jr. Lighthouse end-of-year celebration, UIL party, and classroom end-of-year celebrations, this month was filled with joy, reflection, and excitement as we closed out the school year! 🎉📚✨

These moments remind us that school is about so much more than academics. It’s about growing together, building relationships, and celebrating the goals our students have worked so hard to achieve.

As a Leader in Me district, we are proud to see our students practicing leadership skills every day, setting goals, taking responsibility, working together, and cheering each other on as they grow.

We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work and growth this year, and we are grateful for our teachers, staff, and families who helped make these celebrations meaningful and memorable. What a special way to end the year! 🧡 🦛

As we wrap up another amazing school year, we want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped keep our students safe during arrival and dismissal each and every day.

Thank you to our amazing crossing guard and Officer Nisula for helping keep our students and families safe during arrival and dismissal every single day. We are so grateful for the care, patience, and positivity shown each morning and afternoon. A huge thank you as well to our dedicated staff members who faithfully worked the bus loop and car rider lines rain or shine to make sure every student arrived safely and ended their day smoothly.

A special thank you to Ms. Serna and our amazing Flag Club for proudly raising and lowering the U.S. and Texas flags daily. Your leadership and responsibility helped us start each day with pride and purpose.

It truly takes a village, and we are thankful for every person who helped make Veterans’ Hill a safe, welcoming, and successful place for our students this year! 🇺🇸⭐

Today was extra special at Veterans’ Hill as we welcomed back graduating seniors from the Hutto High School Class of 2026 for their Senior Walk! 🎓🧡

Seeing these former VHE students walk our halls once again brought so much joy to our staff and students. It was a full circle moment watching them reconnect with teachers who once guided them in their elementary years and seeing how much they’ve grown.

We were also proud to celebrate students from the inaugural Dual Language program, who received certificates and cords recognizing their accomplishments and dedication. A special celebration was held and their former dual language 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Finlayson, being in attendance made the moment even more meaningful.

Veterans’ Hill will always be home, and we wish all of our graduating seniors the very best as they begin their next chapter. Once a Hippo, always a Hippo! 🦛 ✨
