It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Fire Chief Robert K. Wieder.

Chief Wieder has had a lifetime of dedicated service as a soldier in the US Army, and as a firefighter in Souda Bay, Naples, NAS Jax, and finally MCRD Parris Island.

Details for the services and family arrangements will be made when available. Please keep his family and ours in your thoughts and prayers as we all grieve this loss.

This picture says it all. In case you weren’t sure...This is what courage looks like...This is a clip from a video on ABC. It shows Squad 288 just before entering the WTC. On the right is Lt Ron Kerwin. Left is Joe Hunter and middle Ronnie Gies, two of my favorite guys. They saddled up even when they knew it was going bad. I was so Proud to represent those guys, Squad Company 288, and the FDNY. Never ForgetπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ #911

The photo below represents the last sunset the twin towers would ever see. 19 years ago today. 14 hours after this photo was taken, these magnificent structures would be reduced to rubble. I remember the next day so vividly. Terrifying still to this day. May god bless the 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 PAPD Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department officers, 8 EMTs from private Ambulance associations, the officer from New York Fire Patrol and the thousands of civilians that instantly lost their lives that day. God bless the innocent people that were on the fated flights and those at the Pentagon. May god also bless all of those that have suffered and/or passed away due to effects of that event since. This photo was taken when many of the victims were simply getting ready for a restful evening, an early flight, their next shift or to go sightseeing. NEVER FORGET!!!! πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ˜“πŸ˜‘πŸš’πŸš‘πŸš“πŸš•βœˆοΈπŸ›³πŸ’”πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ A huge thank you to The Marines, The National Guard, The Air National Guard, The Army, The Navy, The Air Force, The USCG, The FDNY, The NYPD, all first responders, The PAPD, The FAA, the Taxi drivers, the ferry pilots, the MTA buses and all others that helped save as many people as they could in any way they could. May God bless you all. It’s strange to think that everyone that was alive at that time, is now an adult.
