Rowland Unified School District (rowlandusdschools) is so fortunate to have an amazing District Leadership Team headed by our Superintendent, Mr. alex Flores (rowlandusdsuperintendent). Right before the school year started, we held a District Leadership Retreat focusing on our District’s brand-new Strategic Marketing Plan to share all of the amazing accomplishments we’ve achieved as a team over the past decade. Keeping our surrounding communities informed of how great our District is is key to making RUSD the district of choice for both students and employees.

It was truly an honor and privilege to introduce Shelyn Elementary School’s (shelynsharks) new principal, Dr. Cindy Bak (dr.cindybak), to the Shelyn community at our “Pastries with the Principal” event. Even though Dr. Bak is new to this role, she is not an unfamiliar face. Dr. Bak started her career 22 years ago student-teaching right here at Shelyn! She served in our district for 11 years as a Teacher and Program Specialist, 11 years away as an Assistant Principal, Principal, and non-profit Assistant Director, and now she’s back! Welcome home, Dr. Bak.
