Tonight was Everything! This picture is everything.

Surrounded by my family, friends, fellow Jaycees, Jaycee Past Presidents, church family, and Person County Leadership, I took my oath to serve Person County on the Board of Commissioners these next four years. I look at this picture and I see the ones who loved me, pushed me, prayed for me, and who have stood beside me over the last year.

Tonight, my wife and daughter held my grandparents Bible as I took my oath, open to Philippians Chapter 4. My grandparents, Ed and Louise, always set a Christlike example for me, they taught me about the kind of Christian man I desire to be.

I promise to do what’s best for the citizens of
Person County, to represent all, not just the select few. I promise to pray about my decisions. I promise to always lead with conviction.

I made those promises tonight with my finger on Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

WE DID IT! It’s been a long road, but last night a year’s worth of work resulted in a Win for Person County!

I am so very excited to get to work representing person county on the BOC. Surrounded by my wife, daughter and our friends and community Tuesday night, I was humbled as the results came in precinct by precinct and it is my honor to be named Commissioner Elect for Person County. It is a role that will not be taken lightly as my commitment to this community and its citizens is deep, and I will do my very best to make sure each and every voice is heard. My campaign was centered around service to humanity, and moving Person County towards a better future, and I will spend the next four years in office fighting for that future.

I applaud my opponents, HollyAnn and Clyde on a clean, and respectful race during this general election, and it was truly a pleasure to get to know them during early voting. Congratulations to Kyle Puryear on being elected to a fifth term on the board. I also extend a warm congratulations to my friend, S***t Wilbourn on his win as Person County’s new Sheriff, and Ray Jeffers as the new representation for our district in the NC House. Each of these men have the best interests of our citizens at heart and embody what it means to lead.

Now, LETS GET TO WORK!

Well here we are!!! Finally in the short rows.

Wow, what a journey this has been. I’m so blessed to have so much support and love shown to myself and my family through this time. I love my hometown and the people in it!

If elected I will work my absolute hardest to ensure our children have a hometown to be proud of and want to return to and raise their kids here. 3 days left of early voting. I will try my best to be up there in the afternoons. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for all the love. May Person County win in the end!! God bless us all!!

…I’m not running for Jason Thomas. I’m running for the average citizen so that their voice is heard. I’m running so something can actually be accomplished. I’m running so Person County can reach it’s potential. I’m running to change the landscape of local politics, because EVERYONE deserves a voice.
