Don't forget about the America 250 Quilt Project Tonight!

Hope you can join us tonight, Tuesday, August 11, anytime between 4:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. to learn how you can help with our America 250 Quilt Project. You will select your quilt square and we will show you how to begin hand stitching and help us create an America 250 designed quilt.

We had an awesome turnout to our first quilting session! Adults & Kids with no experience got comfortable making bags, pillows and pin cushions before moving onto our America 250 quilt squares!

📣 Person County 4-H Equine Club Meeting Reminder! 🐴🍀

Join us on Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 PM at Winstead Performance Horses for our next 4-H Equine Club meeting! We’ll be discussing upcoming activities, club business, and planning a date for our next fundraiser. We hope to see all current and prospective members there!

We finished off 2026 Summer Fun strong! We have had 104 youth participate in Person County Summer fun across 7 weeks of programing! Excited for the new school year coming soon!

We had 12 youth from Person County Participate to solve the 1906 crime of Henry Ward. The students learned how to use microscopes, blood type, extract DNA, learn about eye witness testimony and foot impressions. We also had Person County Deputy Fire Marshal, Guildford County Sheriff's talk about k-9 & SBI teaching internet safety. We served over 70 youth total at this event hosted at the Guildford County Extension Office!

The kids loved the camp for sure but if they didn't, they sure loved the van ride each day singing to the Backstreet Boys, Party in the USA and tons other song requests with the mini speaker one of the kids brought! Really wild mix of genres!!

Get Ready for the 2026 EGG-cellent Egg Contest!

Don't wait until the flock flies the coop; the registration deadline is July 31, 2026.

Attention all North Carolina 4-H members with a laying flock: it’s time to put your poultry skills to the test in the 2026 EGG-cellent Egg Contest! This competition invites youth participants to submit up to two sets of a half-dozen eggs to be judged on uniformity as well as both exterior and interior quality.

Come support the Person County Extension Community Association (ECA) Friday, July 24th at 6:30pm at the Kirby theater by joining us for the next installment of the FREE Friday Night Movie series put together by the Person County Tourism Development Authority. The movie is FREE but we will be selling concessions such as popcorn, chips, candy and drinks.

The movie this month is "Elio" and it follows eleven-year-old Elio who is mistaken for the intergalactic ambassador of Earth after being beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens for making contact, and must navigate a crisis that involves the warlord Grigon, who is the father of the alien child Glordon who Elio befriends.
