Join the 4-H Quilt Project

We are so excited to announce the Person County Community Quilt Project, and absolutely no experience is needed to join the fun! This is an intergenerational youth and adult project. Pick up your quilt square and join us for optional in-person work sessions this July and August to help piece it all together. Best of all, the final masterpiece will be proudly displayed in the Person County Office Building for the whole community to enjoy! It is FREE to participate.

Get your cameras ready! Entries for the 2026 Dr. Kim Ingold 4-H Photography Contest are now open!
This annual competition encourages NC 4-H youth and adult photographers to showcase their creativity, practice photography skills and capture meaningful moments through the camera lens.
Participants can enter photos in the following categories:
🍀 4-H in Action
🌄 Nature’s Beauty
🐾 Animals
⚫ Black and White
All entries must be submitted by August 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Participants should review the contest rules, category requirements, judging information and submission guidelines before entering.

We are THRILLED to welcome Jennifer Brown our new County Extension Director.

Our New Person County Extension Director starts next Monday, June 1. She is a familiar face to our office as she has been working in the Person County Extension Office since January 2003, serving as the 4-H Extension Agent for 10 years and then the Family Consumer Science (FCS) Extension Agent for the last 13 years.

North Carolina 4-H Skillathon & Livestock Judging Clinics

June 15-16, 2026
Cost: $15 per youth and $10 per adult

Deadline to register is June 5

These events are designed for youth that want to learn the basics of Skillathon and Livestock Judging contests. Additionally, the skillathon clinic is a great introduction to a variety of animal science topics. Both of these events are hands-on learning opportunities for youth ages 8-18.
