Families for Justice as Healing is working to end the incarceration of women and girls.

Beloved community! We haven't posted on Facebook in so long - forgive us! But we wanted to be sure all our people know about what's happening for the holiday season!

Formerly incarcerated sisters we invite you to join us for a Holiday Party especially for us on Sunday December 14 from 12-2pm at the office. Of course you can bring your kids. We'll have food, music, activities, sisterhood, and connection. tinyurl.com/letstalkaboutitgroup

We also invite families to come get gifts for your children at our annual Holiday event on December 23 from 5-7pm. We'll be posted up near Humboldt and Crawford with presents and holiday treats! This is what looks like!

And another one of our favorite traditions is the Holiday Canteen Drive for incarcerated women. Let's come together and ensure our sisters have access to food, warm clothing, and hygiene products this holiday season. Sign up to give $20 or more DIRECTLY to an incarcerated woman: bit.ly/2025Canteen

We are a critical organizing moment to stop the new women's prison and create what different looks like!

Governor Maura Healey has chosen not to replace the leadership at the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security who oversee the Department of Correction and who still are planning to build the new women's prison.

We believe the new women's prison project is moving quickly and we have to act together NOW!

Here are four things you can do to help us stop the new women's prison:

1) Sign up to join us at the State House for a Day of Action on February 9 from 3-6pm.
We need this to be our biggest rally ever to make a powerful statement to the Healey administration. Sign up: bit.ly/freeherday

2) Call Governor Healey and tell her NO NEW WOMEN'S PRISON
Now is the time to let Governor Healey know that people across MA want a 5 year pause on jail and prison construction and expansion. The Governor should focus on using her clemency power to release aging and sick women, not prison construction! Call and fill up the voicemail box: bit.ly/massmoratoriumguide

3) Call your State Rep and Senator and ask them to co-sponsor the Prison Moratorium and our policy priorities: bit.ly/massmoratoriumguide

4) Sign up for a phone bank or canvass!
