As first responders, we never know what type of call the next dispatch will bring. Some incidents involve critical, life-threatening emergencies, while others remind us that helping our community comes in all shapes and sizes.

At approximately 11:00 PM last night, Roxbury Fire Department crews were dispatched to an unusual rescue—a cat stranded in a tree outside a resident’s home. Utilizing Tower 15, firefighters carefully reached the feline and safely brought it back to the ground.

We’re happy to report that the rescue was a success, and the adventurous cat was quickly reunited with its very relieved owner.

While this call may not have been our typical emergency response, we’re always proud to lend a helping hand (or paw) whenever our community needs us. 🐾🚒

Over the past two weeks, members of the Roxbury Township Police Department and Roxbury Township Fire Department participated in comprehensive Active Shooter Incident Management training designed to strengthen interagency coordination, communication, and emergency response capabilities.

Through classroom instruction, tactical discussions, and hands-on scenario-based exercises, participants worked together to enhance their preparedness for critical incidents requiring a unified public safety response. The training focused on rapid decision-making, rescue operations, incident command, and the coordinated efforts necessary to protect and save lives during high-risk situations.

These valuable training opportunities reinforce the commitment of both departments to continuous professional development and public safety readiness. By training together, our first responders build stronger partnerships, improve operational effectiveness, and ensure they are prepared to respond swiftly and effectively when our community needs them most.

The Roxbury Township Police Department and Roxbury Township Fire Department remain dedicated to the safety, protection, and well-being of all residents, businesses, and visitors throughout our community.

This is a county wide program that is designed and distributed by the Morris County Sheriffs office and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management.

Today we want to recognize all of the incredible moms, grandmothers, wives, and mother figures who support our firefighters and EMTs every single day.

Whether it’s holding things together at home during late night calls, missed holidays, long trainings, storms, or simply understanding when duty calls, your support never goes unnoticed. Behind every first responder is a family making sacrifices too.

From all of us at the Roxbury Township Fire Department, thank you for everything you do for our members, our families, and our community.

The Roxbury Township Fire Department has been operating at the scene of the major fire in Belleville since approximately 2:00 PM today. Roxbury Fire was specifically requested for Tower 15, our Pierce Mfg Ascendant 100’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Tower, due to its specialized capabilities in accessing and extinguishing hot spots in difficult-to-reach areas.

Tower 15 is staffed by experienced firefighters from two of our fire companies and is operating alongside Chief One.

Roxbury Township Fire Department is proud to stand among the many mutual aid agencies assisting at this devastating incident. Fire departments from across Northern New Jersey and New York have come together in a coordinated effort to bring the fire under control.

We are incredibly proud of our members who have stepped away from their jobs and families to assist a neighboring community during this emergency.

While our personnel continue operations out of town, additional Roxbury firefighters remain in service locally to ensure continued emergency response coverage for our residents.

Congrats to all the students who completed there S-190 class for Wildland Firefighting!

🚒🔥 Big win for our Wildland Fire students!
They’ve officially completed S-190: Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior—the first of five courses required for wildland firefighter certification.

This course lays the foundation for understanding how fires spread and how that knowledge drives smart, safe tactical decisions on the fire line.

One hurdle down, many more accomplishments ahead! 💪🌲
