Firehouse Addition. 8/19/26
The Roxbury Ambulance in conjunction with the Town of Roxbury are putting an addition on the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department firehouse on North Street. The addition is being funded by grant money as well as donation money to the RAA.
The new bays will allow for Both Roxbury Ambulances, as well as the Pickup Truck/Utility Vehicle and Cargo trailer to all be stored indoors and at one location.
If the weather cooperates, we should be inside by the end of the year!!

It's been a busy week for Roxbury Ambulance. Besides responding to medical emergencies with the Ambulances in and around Roxbury, We also provide Incident Rehab across the lower Litchfield County area. Tuesday early Am, the Rehab Unit responded to Woodbury for a structure fire, and then again tonight to a structure fire in Southbury. At the Woodbury incident, Roxbury personnel provided Rehab for 28 firefighters, and tonight they broke that record with 34 firefighters. Rehab is a nationally recognized process to assist firefighters with cooling off and rehydrating in an attempt to reduce firefighter injuries and mobidity.

August 15, 2026: Roxbury Ambulance and Roxbury Congregational Church sponsored a Community CPR class with 10 participants. The class, led by Lauren Lord, EMT, went over the American Heart Association curriculum, and class members practiced on manikins. Community members are the first link in the chain of survival. Whether you are trained and do CPR or just recognize the need for help and call 911, you are integral to our ability to save someone's life!

Roxbury Ambulance Headquarters construction update: July 23, 2026, the addition to the current Firehouse is progressing. The 1 million dollar addition had its foundation walls poured today. The addition will add two double vehicle deep bays to the west end of the building. This will bring under one roof all our buildings with adequate office, storage, and equipment space for the first time.

Memorial Day 2026: It was a rainy day this year. So while the parade was cancelled, a short service of remembrance was held at the Firehouse and then the firefighters and ambulance crew traveled to place the wreaths in the normal locations. Afterwards, the Ambulance members who were in attendance gathered for the annual photo and "sofie selfie"

May 28, 2026: The members of the Roxbury Ambulance gathered with Town Officials and representatives from Nosal Construction to break ground for a 2-bay addition to the Roxbury Firehouse. The addition, funded by a State grant and 250,000 from the Association, will provide space to house our 2 ambulances, Utility pickup, and Rehab Response Trailer.
We are grateful to our Building Committee as well as Town and State leaders who have worked alongside us to bring this date into reality.
The addition will be in line with the current bays for the fire equipment and will be on the west side towards the baseball field.
