Kirkside Park, Roxbury Kirkside Park is the former estate of Helen Gould Shepard, daughter of Roxbury native son, Jay Gould.

In 1980, the park was under threat of development and a group of community citizens raised the funds to purchase the 11 acre park and donated it to the Town of Roxbury with the stipulation that it remain a public park in perpetuity. In 1999 the Town began the restoration of this community jewel and today is serves as the centerpiece of the hamlet. Located behind the majestic Gould Church on Main S

treet, Kirkside Park is the ideal place to enjoy the beauty of the Catskills in a beautifully restored and meticulously manicured and maintained historic site.

Wednesday, July 17: it’s ZooMobile time! Starting at 9:30 until 10:30am at the Kirkside Barns, the Utica Zoo will be introducing some of their animal friends to our town. This is open to all - please spread the word!
Free admission! Our thanks to the Four County Library System for their financial support of this ZooMobile event and to the Town of Roxbury for providing the space at Kirkside.
