The Roy City Fire Department is issuing the following statement in response to inquiries from multiple media outlets.
As you are aware, a devastating fire occurred on July 20, 2026, destroying three homes and damaging several others. At this time, the Roy City Fire Department would like to remind members of the media, partner agencies, and the community that Roy City is not the lead investigating agency and does not have any additional information to provide regarding the investigation.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the many agencies that responded to this critical incident. Their professionalism, dedication, and coordinated response underscore the importance of strong interagency partnerships during emergencies such as this.

Fire authorities are currently investigating the fire incident and need your help. We are asking any residents who live along the train tracks north of 4800 S and along 2675 W or West Park Dr in Roy City and have home security camera footage, doorbell camera recordings, or cell phone videos or photos, or were a witness from the time of the fire on July 20th between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to please contact authorities.
If you have any relevant footage or witnessed the incident, please contact the ATF mainline at 801‑524‑7070 or email [email protected]. Your information may be important to the investigation.

🚨 Fireworks Update for the 2026 Fourth of July Holiday 🚨
Roy City will remain under the statewide fireworks discharge ban for the Fourth of July holiday.
We understand that a previously approved fireworks discharge map has been circulating. While that map was approved in 2019, it is not in effect for the 2026 Independence Day holiday.
❌ There are no designated fireworks discharge areas within Roy City for the Fourth of July holiday.
We know this may be disappointing, but protecting our community, neighborhoods, and open spaces from the risk of fire remains our highest priority.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping keep Roy City safe. Wishing everyone a happy and safe Independence Day! 🚒

🔥 Fireworks Update for Roy City Residents 🔥
Roy City will remain under the statewide fireworks restrictions established by Governor Spencer Cox's Executive Order 2026-04.
After careful consideration, the City has elected to remain under the Governor's order to help reduce the risk of wildfire and protect our community, first responders, and natural resources.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in following these restrictions and celebrating responsibly this Independence Day.
