Bipolar disorder is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions - often reduced to stereotypes that don’t reflect the full reality.

It’s more than mood swings. It’s a complex condition that can impact energy, sleep, emotions, and daily functioning in ways that aren’t always visible.

Behind the diagnosis are real people navigating highs and lows - while still showing up to work, maintaining relationships, and doing their best to stay grounded.

This World Bipolar Day, let’s move beyond assumptions and choose understanding—replacing stigma with empathy.

Save this. Share this. Help shift the narrative.

CDC reports that about 3.2% of 8-year-old children in the U.S. have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is approximately 1 in 31 children. ASD affects how people communicate, interact, and experience the world around them. 🌍💙 Awareness helps foster understanding and inclusion.

When was the last time you truly asked yourself what you need?

Understanding your needs is a critical part of overall well-being. Many individuals are never taught how to identify, express, or prioritize their needs-often leading to burnout, stress, or emotional disconnection.

These journal prompts are designed to support reflection, build self-awareness, and help you reconnect with what you truly need. When we take time to reflect, we strengthen our ability to communicate, set boundaries, and care for ourselves more intentionally.

Use these prompts as a tool to pause, reflect, and check in with yourself.

Awareness is the first step toward meeting your needs.

If your child falls outside of that 28%, it can end up affecting 100% of their (and your) life.

🙃 Teenagers can be famously private. Closed (slammed) doors. Those silencing side-eye glances. The uttered “BRUH” that tells you you’re just not getting it.

🐣 Independence-building behaviors are necessary — they help develop self-reliance. (Baby birds have to flap their wings furiously so they become strong enough to leave the nest, right?)

⚖️ Don’t let your teenager’s behavior distract you or push you away. Balance privacy and persistence.

👉 Be their safety net (even after they’ve flown the coop). Part of what allows them to fly is knowing you’ll be right there when they need you.

🫶 You’ve got this. And with your support, so do they.

If you’re worried your child or teen is struggling, don’t wait to talk about it.

If you can’t find the words, find the support you need.

Your child matters. RBC is here to help.

Caregivers are the foundation of many success stories. 💛

Supporting a child or young adult with behavioral or developmental needs requires patience, strength, and the right support network. Access to services such as respite care, family training, and behavioral health programs can help caregivers continue providing the care their loved ones need.

When caregivers receive support, entire families benefit.

RBC Support Services works alongside families to provide guidance, resources, and services that help individuals build confidence and independence.
