Today marked the end for this resilient group of 5th graders. You began your journey at Oakland behind a computer screen and returned to the classroom with just a few months left in the year. You wore masks, stayed six feet apart, and persevered through it all.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you! Wishing you all the best as you head off to middle school.
To our 5th grade families—thank you for your support and everything you’ve done along the way!

Tomorrow is the last day of school, and what an amazing year it has been! As a PTA and school community, we have grown and accomplished so much together.
Our Fun Run brought in record-breaking funds, allowing us to reduce donation requests and increase support for our teachers. We also created meaningful events that brought families together while celebrating learning and showing appreciation for our staff.
None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers—thank you for everything you do. It’s always wonderful to hear how great Oakland is in the community, and I hope we continue that momentum.
As of tomorrow, my time as PTA President comes to an end. I’m so grateful for your support, and for embracing all my crazy ideas and inability to say no. These past two years have been truly special.
A special thank you to my husband (who is finally retiring as the “Roadrunner” 😁) and my girls, who’s faces were always plastered on Facebook and got stuck being the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Congratulations to our Oakland Elementary students who participated in the Physical Education Junior Olympics tonight!!! It was a beautiful evening to cheer on our kiddos who’ve worked so hard in physical education class on their fitness testing!!! I’m so proud of all of you!!! You should all be very proud of yourselves! Just making it to the Junior Olympics is quite the accomplishment!!!

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the End-of-the-Year Picnic such a success! This year’s event chairs decided to switch things up, and they absolutely nailed it. Kudos to them for bringing fresh ideas and making it such a fun and memorable day!
