🌼 Welcome to June! 🌼
As the weather warms up, many homeowners are spending time outside planting flowers, adding landscaping, and tackling those long-awaited yard projects.
One area that often gets overlooked when digging is the flower bed near the front of your home. Every year, we respond to several gas leaks caused by homeowners accidentally damaging underground natural gas lines while planting shrubs, removing bushes, installing landscaping, or digging near their gas meter.
Before you put a shovel in the ground, make sure you contact MISS DIG 811. It’s free, easy, and can help prevent a dangerous and costly accident.
MISS DIG will notify utility companies to mark the approximate location of underground utilities on your property before you dig. Michigan law requires homeowners and contractors to contact 811 at least three business days before starting any excavation project—even small ones.
Whether you’re planting a new bush, installing a mailbox, or creating a garden bed, know what’s below before you dig.
