Incoming kindergarteners can stop by the Royal Oak Schools Board Office tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, from 6:00–6:30 p.m. to pick up their swag bag.

Each swag bag includes a free book, Future Raven T-shirt, math activities, and more. Students can also sign their Certificate of Excitement with a giant pencil. We can't wait to welcome our newest Ravens this fall!

Start the school year with confidence at the Royal Oak Middle School Building Walkthrough on Friday, August 21. Explore the building, locate your classrooms, and get comfortable before the first day of school. It's the perfect chance to get familiar with your new surroundings and kick off an amazing year.

Time slots by grade:
• 7th Grade: 9:30–10:30 a.m.
• 8th Grade: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
• 6th Grade (returning students who would like another walkthrough): 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Guardians must accompany all students. Please enter through Door #1 (Main Entrance) or Door #24 (Gym Doors). We can't wait to welcome you back!

UPDATE: MIStar is back online, and Annual Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open!

If you attempted to register yesterday and experienced technical issues, please log back in and make sure each section on the main registration page has a green check to confirm your information was submitted.

Annual Registration is required for all Royal Oak Schools students, including preschool, DK, Kindergarten, new, and returning students.

Complete registration by:
• Logging in to the MIStar Parent Portal
• Selecting Annual Registration
• Completing all required steps for each student in your household

Forgot your MIStar PIN or password? Use the PIN Login Assistance or Password Login Assistance links on the login page. Be sure to check your spam folder for emails from ParentConnection.

Families who complete Annual Registration by August 21 will be able to view teacher assignments and student schedules in MIStar. Registration remains open through September 20.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to a technical issue with MiStar's annual registration system, online registration is temporarily unavailable.

As a result, registration has been postponed until further notice while MiStar works to resolve the issue. We are hopeful the system will be available as soon as tomorrow, but we are unable to guarantee a timeline at this time. We will notify all families as soon as registration is available.
