Yesterday marked the second round of our 6th-grade field trips to the Norton Museum of Art! Our students spent the day engaging with world-class collections, exploring artistic process, and experiencing art through new perspectives. A great time was definitely had by all.

We are proud to announce that Western Pines Community Middle School has once again been recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a 2026 School of Excellence!

This prestigious recognition reflects the hard work of our students, dedication of our teachers & staff, and incredible support of our families and community.

Here's what makes this achievement so special:
**8 consecutive years as a School of Excellence!
**Only 119 middle schools statewide earned this recognition in 2026.
**One of only 78 middle schools in Florida to earn this distinction for 8 or more consecutive years.
**One of only 12 middle schools in the School District of Palm Beach County to receive this recognition in 2026.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and grateful to everyone who contributes to the continued success of Western Pines!

We've got nothing but love for Coach LaCroix's sixth grade PE classes as they worked on tennis skills today. These students certainly have the advantage as Coach LaCroix continues to serve up such fun lessons. Nothing backhanded about it - these students are aces.

Our Girls Basketball Team defeated Crestwood last night 20 to 10. These Lady Tigers pulled together and worked hard.
Our Boys Basketball Team also defeated Crestwood last night and are now 6-0. Both teams have away games today at Polo Park. Our next home game is on Friday.

Last night’s games were definitely something to cheer about! What made the evening extra special was sharing the court with Crestwood Middle School’s cheer squad. We loved bringing our cheer squads together, sharing the energy, and cheering side-by-side with such a fantastic, talented group!

Mrs. Barry and Mrs. Mazzeo wrapped up last week with an awesome Khan Kudos celebration! Students who completed their September Khan Academy assignments on time with 80% proficiency or higher celebrated with a game cart, dirty sodas, popcorn, and candy salad. We love seeing our teachers make hard work so fun and rewarding. Great job to all our celebrating students, and keep up the amazing effort, Tigers!
