Here are the upcoming events at the Royston Public Library for the week of September 7th - 11th, 2026!

We will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labor Day.

Thursday, September 10th, is jam-packed with fun activities!
📖First, we have our Storytime at 11:00 AM!
🤘🎨Then, at 4:00 PM, our Teen Program will be tapping into their inner actor by performing a play reading of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!"
🧶Last but not least, we'll "wrap" the day off with our Fiber Arts Yarn Circle crochet club at 6:00 PM! Crocheters and crafters of all levels are welcome!

Also, until December 20, 2026, the Athens Rock Lobster hockey team has a reading challenge for school-aged readers! Earn prizes for reading 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 minutes!

Tomorrow, September 1, 2026, until Wednesday, September 30, 2026, is Library Card Sign-Up Month!! All Georgia residents are eligible for a PINES statewide library card, with access to 300 libraries and a shared collection of 11 million items.

Come by the Royston Public Library during the month of September and enter to win a 🎶musical prize🎶by:

🦞🏒 ROCKING & READING CHALLENGE! 🏒 🦞

The Athens Rock Lobsters' hockey team is hosting a reading challenge for school-aged readers to earn prizes for their reading! Come by the Royston Public Library to pick up a reading log and track your rocking reading adventures!

These are the milestones and prizes associated with them:
250 minutes read- Rock Lobsters bookmark (co-branded with Fox’s Pizza)
500 minutes read- coupon/voucher for one of our partner locations
750 minutes read- free ticket to readers' choice of 11/21 or 12/11 ARL home game
1,000 minutes read- free ticket to readers' choice of a game in February or March

Turn in your logs at the library so we can record your reading! This rocking reading challenge finishes on December 20, 2026.

🔬Monday, August 17th, is our Ace's STEM Squad! This free, educational program is for grades K through 6, and we'll learn about science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and more!

Thursday, August 20th, is jam-packed with fun activities!

✅Then, at 4:00 PM, our next Adulting 101 program for teens will feature our friends at the North Georgia Credit Union teaching all about checking accounts!
