Reminder: The Sixth Greene County Citizen Academy will be held next Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The April 17 topic covers the functions of the Greene County Water and Sewer Department. Participants will receive an overview of the department's operations and participate in a Q&A session with staff.
The Citizen Academy was established based on a recommendation from the Ruckersville Area Plan to encourage residents and businesses to learn more about local government, zoning, and leadership functions.
The Citizen Academy is a free program for residents interested in learning more about local government. It provides an interactive experience for participants and covers various local government functions, such as fire and rescue, libraries, animal care, public works, and more.
This will be the sixth Citizen Academy, with additional sessions scheduled throughout 2025 for attendees to review. Sessions will be held in the board meeting room and recorded for later viewing. More information will follow regarding the dates of each session.
