Our intimate vineyard experience does not accommodate large parties greater than 6. Montifalco's Estate Farm Winery opens to guests Noon-5pm, Thursday through Monday, with final walk-in seating at 4:30pm. Due to the nature of our operations we are an Adults 21+ Farm Winery (does not apply to infants) Pups are not permitted on the farm for the safety and c

omfort of our vineyard's French Toulouse geese. Enjoy nationally acclaimed wines in a relaxed atmosphere with an experience intimately connected with our vineyard. International cheeses & charcuterie are available for purchase. Outside food is welcomed to be enjoyed outdoors. Only sedans, minivans and SUVs are permitted to park. No loud party buses permitted. We apologize, there is no RV parking available. Credit/Debit cards accepted. No cash on premises. Reservations are recommended if you'd like to reserve your favorite table or one of our lounges. There are times when the place you love asks a little more of you.

Following the recent storms, Domaine Montifalco needs our care and attention. We’ve made the decision to temporarily close our gates while we repair, restore, and tend to this special place that has given us—and so many of you—countless beautiful memories.

We will reopen on August 15.

A note from Montifalco…
We’re heading back to France this week to button up the new Maison Mirabeau guest house and take care of the olive oil business, but before anyone gets any ideas, we’re not moving for good! We’ll return August 12 in time for the annual Leo Festival August 22 and to have fun for my 50th! The winery is being left in the capable hands of our amazing human team and a highly motivated gaggle of geese who have unanimously appointed themselves Acting Management.
Current responsibilities include:
🪿 Gandalf – Director of Guest Relations🪿 Baguette – Head of Vineyard Security🪿 Crouton – Assistant to the Head of Vineyard Security🪿 🪿 Amelia Egghart and Yolkahontas – Loud commentary and quality control
While we visit our olive groves and drink entirely too much espresso, the DM team will continue pouring wines, welcoming guests, and providing the signature Montifalco experience you love! Regular hours: Saturday & Sundays Noon-5pm. Closed this year for July 4 weekend and on August 8th. More to come et à bientôt! - Justin Falco

Fun fact… The monarchs that overwinter in the mountains of central Mexico leave in late winter and head north into Texas and the southern United States. They lay eggs and die.
Their offspring continue northward, laying eggs along the way. It takes three to four generations for monarchs to repopulate the eastern United States and Canada.
By the time monarchs arrive in Virginia in late spring and summer, they are often the grandchildren or great-grandchildren of the butterflies that left Mexico.
Then, in late summer and fall, a special generation is born in Virginia and farther north. Unlike the summer generations that live only a few weeks, these “super monarchs” can live 8–9 months and are the ones that migrate all the way back to Mexico—sometimes traveling 2,000–3,000 miles.
So, a monarch fluttering through your flowers likely hatched somewhere in Virginia or a neighboring state. But its great-grandparents spent the winter in Mexico.

One of the most rewarding moments in the cellar — watching months of work in the vineyard and winery finally make their way into bottle.

The tanks empty. The bottles fill. And another vintage becomes part of the story.
