At YIMS Drama, we LOVE breaking records! This season, we had a ton of firsts, including having a SOLD OUT three-show run before we even opened, a full middle school student crew, a live student drummer onstage during the Finale, confetti blasts, and over 215 complete costumes! We’re not allowed to pick favorites, but Footloose: Youth Edition is at the top of our list! All season long we celebrated the community that we’ve built, and the ones that supported us to get us here. We’re headed back to 1984 with our production of Footloose: Youth Edition at Yough Intermediate Middle School on April 10,11, and 12. From bold, nostalgic set pieces to big hair, bright colors, and era-inspired costumes and makeup, the show leans all the way into the decade that made Footloose a household name, both as a film and as a soundtrack that defined a generation. The creative team has committed to incorporating nods to the original movie, such as flashbacks, montages, and all of the over-the-top 80s charm and cheese you can ask for.
