Domestic violence does not discriminate—but too often, LGBTQIA+ survivors face unique barriers when seeking safety and support.
Fear of discrimination, lack of affirming services, isolation from family or community, and threats related to sexual orientation or gender identity can make it even harder for survivors to reach out for help. For many, the abuse is compounded by racism, ableism, immigration concerns, economic hardship, and other systemic inequities.
Every survivor deserves to be believed, respected, and supported in spaces where they can be fully themselves.
As we continue working toward a future free from violence, we must also work to ensure that services, systems, and communities are inclusive, affirming, and accessible to all survivors.
Safety is for everyone.
Support is for everyone.
Freedom from abuse is for everyone.
