We are proud to call Roy Waldrup one of us. Our department has grown over the past few years and the talent and determination these men show in Ruleville and Sunflower County is exceptional. We are here to serve our community and proud to do it.

Though Roy Waldrup’s journey to the volunteer fire service took a path through the frozen landscapes of Alaska, his roots have always been anchored deep in the Mississippi Delta soil.

It is with great sorrow that the Sunflower Co Fire Coordinator’s Office announces the passing of Fire Chief Russie McIntyre of the Drew Volunteer Fire Department, who succumbed late yesterday evening following a nearly two-year battle with cancer. Chief McIntyre commenced his fire service career in 1985 and continued to respond to calls despite his illness. We request that his family and department be included in your prayers during this difficult time. Further details on arrangements will be forthcoming. Rest Easy Chief.
