Good afternoon, all.
As a quick informative session, while we are enforcing the rules of the road if/when needed, we will specifically be attentive around the school zone safety times on School Street.
We've diligently composed road statistics in the past month(s) through winter and especially the speeds or distracted driving (using phones), are not changing for the better.
The School Zone posted signs dictate when the reduced speeds are optimal for safety. We would appreciate consideration and respect for the juveniles. As a reminder, while in a SCHOOL ZONE the fine penalties quickly double; and or additional penalties dependent; 4 demerit points; and receiving a ticket can affect your insurance at increased percentage. (heard some stories up towards 32%)
Drive with care, rushing never helps you.

PS: just had another head-on style collision on Route 25 yesterday. A result of another vehicle traveling in the wrong lane. (non-fatal but so close) luckily extra avoidance on the victim.
With this and other recent instances in the past couple weeks of dangerous driving/ illegal passing/negligent actions...that if operational behavior is unlawful/unsafe, you can expect to receive citations for each of the violations.

There is no need to jeopardize others to save you minutes on your commute.

For our community's information:
Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Justice and Department of Safety are providing a further update on the state’s vehicle inspection program in response to the federal District Court’s January 27, 2026 preliminary injunction order:
* The vehicle inspection program is suspended until further notice.
* Inspection stations will no longer be authorized to issue state inspection stickers and vehicles will not be required to obtain an annual state inspection at this time.
* Drivers are still responsible under current law to ensure that any vehicle driven in New Hampshire is safe to operate, regardless of the status of the inspection program.

A share after being briefed on a recent post against my efforts. I would like to table that Officer O'Leary (recent hire a couple months ago) and I continue working diligently in best efforts of your safety, whereas most fail to maintain yourselves. The Town can be demanding as society disregards to respect and honor your safety and being.
So if you do not see us regularly there are reasons; the Towns size, emergencies, patrolling portions of the 50+miles of road, sitting behind a desk with case work, court, out of Town at training, etc... or even personal time with what we all call life.

It is not that we don't care as some say, but yet only what we can do as (recently) 2 units against 1800+ people daily, not including tourism/all the motorists. We all know the roads are dangerous as drivers with no regard while The State of NH seen 139 fatal crashes last year in 2025.
There has been 5 fatalities, resulting from 3 crashes on our roadways in the past 1.5 years, locals at that.
I have said it for years, to all of you...the town is changing. As a remark of the vehicles speeding by, your neighbors, your family, the simplistic outlook at the forest being developed.

If you want change, you must first change yourself. Behaviors lead to patterns, patterns lead to change and change is time, of which tells your behaviors.
Out of all favorite philosophical quotes, for simplicity
I say this as Mahatma Gandhi spoke, "be the change you wish to see in the world"
In closing - if you rant on fakebook, but say or do nothing in person to better, you are not helping, but yet a part of the problem. Do not say I don't care or I do not take things seriously, especially when it come to the children...

Enjoy the darkening of the day and my thoughts ~Chief~
