Oceanic Hook & Ladder Fire Co. 1 is an all Volunteer Fire Company protecting the 9000 residents of the Borough Of Rumson as part of the Rumson Fire Department. Our members are on call for their follow neighbors 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. We are always in need of new volunteer firefighters, contact us at our email or phone or pick up an application at Borough Hall.

Oceanic Hook and Ladder Fire Co on this Memorial Day to would like to remember all those who served their Country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Please note Rumson Boro Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled. The Borough Memorial Day Service will be held at 11am at Rumson Fire Co. on East River Rd. The Rumson Fire Dept Memorial Service will immediately follow the Borough Service at the firehouse

The Annual Rumson Volunteer Fire Dept Lunch with Santa will be held tomorrow, Dec 14. Santa has confirmed Rudolph will get him to the fire station regardless of Snow. Santa will arrive at 11am and head back to the North Pole at 2pm. Get your picture with Santa and have some Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate.

There has been an increasing number of Lithium Ion battery fires jn Rumson. Follow safe battery practices. Only buy lithium ion batteries per official manufacturer recommended specifications and sources. Unplug any battery that has been fully charged. Do not attempt to rewire appliances or vehicles that use lithium ion batteries.

At 10:20 pm last night the Rumson Fire Dept was dispatched to a working house fire on Ridge Rd. Oceanic Hook & Ladder Fire Co, and Rumson Fire Co. along with Sea Bright, Fair Haven and Tinton Falls made the initial response. Upon arrival Rumson Fire Chief found front the residence fully involved. All occupants had already evacuated the residence. Sea Bright's Ladder Truck arrived at same time and started an initial attack followed by Rumson Fire and Oceanic Fire Cos. Fair Haven FD provided additional manpower and Tinton Falls FD was RIT. Rumson and Fair Haven EMS provided rehab for fire fighters. Red Bank and Middletown FDs were called to relieve first arriving crews during overhaul. Oceanport and Middletown FD provided cover assignments in case of any further calls in town. Rumson's and Monmouth County Fire Marshals conducted the fire investigation. All crews were released by 130am.

As Rumson Fire Chief I would like to thank all the First Responders for the terrific job they did last night quickly extinguishing the heavy fire and preventing fire from extending to surrounding structures. Special thanks to all the Mutual Aid Fire Departments and Monmouth County Fire Marshals Office for their excellent support and coordination.

It may be raining water this weekend but it will be raining chocolate next Sunday April 13th. The Rumson Volunteer Fire Dept will be holding its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Victory Park at 1pm on Sunday April 13th. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all borough children ages 10 and under. Children should bring their own easter egg basket to particpate.

The Oceanic Hook n Ladder Fire Co and Rumson Fire Co responded to a reported structure fire early this morning. A charging lithuim battery overheated and exploded in the homes basement. This is the second e-bike lithium battery fire this year. Follow the CHARGE rule for lithium batteries
