UPDATE 3:35PM - Water service has been restored to Unit 6 following repairs on Haynie Drive.

The City is aware of low water pressure affecting Haynie Drive. Crews are on site and actively working to make the necessary repairs.

A boil water notice is being prepared for Unit 6 and will be posted shortly. Please watch the City’s page for the official notice and additional information

For clarification, hand watering and drip irrigation ARE permitted outside of the designated watering schedule for the maintenance of gardens, plants and foundations.

All other outside watering must continue to follow the mandatory schedule:

🏠 ODD addresses: Mondays & Thursdays, 8 p.m.–7 a.m.
🏠 EVEN addresses: Tuesdays & Fridays, 8 p.m.–7 a.m.

🌳 LEAVE A LEGACY THAT LASTS FOREVER

The Eternal Oaks Cemetery Board is launching a Commemorative Brick Garden, giving families and community members a meaningful way to honor a loved one or celebrate a family legacy in Runaway Bay.

🧱 Personalized engraved bricks are $100 each and may include up to four lines of text.

Proceeds from the brick campaign will help support the continued preservation, beautification and future improvements of Eternal Oaks Cemetery.

The Cemetery Board has been hard at work on several projects at Eternal Oaks, including irrigation improvements, expansion planning, new signage, a gazebo, a Butterfly Garden and other beautification efforts.

📣 CITY COUNCIL MEETING 📣

The Runaway Bay City Council will meet Wednesday, August 19, at 6:00 p.m. at the Norma Coble Civic Center.

📅 Please note: This month’s meeting is on Wednesday instead of the usual Tuesday.

Agenda highlights include:

• Consideration of a task authorization with Freese and Nichols for the City’s Water and Wastewater Master Plan, Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and Rate Study using USACE funding
• An update from Freese and Nichols on the City’s ongoing water and wastewater improvements program
• June and July financial reports
• Appointment to the Cemetery Board

🗣️ Public Forum: Residents may address the City Council during Public Forum, with comments limited to three minutes per person.

Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

🎒💦 The Greater Runaway Bay Alliance is wrapping up summer with one last splash before school starts!

Join them for a Back to School Splash Party on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:00–8:00 PM at the Runaway Bay City Pool!

🌊 Admission is FREE! Instead of an entry fee, guests are encouraged to bring a classroom supply donation to help local teachers prepare for the new school year. Items like pencils, Post-it Notes, bulletin board decorations, Kleenex, and other classroom essentials are greatly appreciated.

🌭 Hot dogs, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase.

🚧 HEADS UP, RUNAWAY BAY! 🚧

TxDOT has scheduled lane closures on US 380 next week.

📍 Location: US 380 from Private Road 1508 to 1658 (west end).

⚠️ Please note: This is NOT the Lake Road intersection near the traffic light by Bridgeport. The work area is closer to Runaway Bay, as shown on the map.

🗓️ Dates: Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31
🕣 Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day

🚗 Drivers can expect temporary lane closures with pilot car operations while crews complete roadway work. Please plan for delays, slow down in the work zone, and watch for workers.
