Exciting news for the City of Runge! 🎉 We were awarded a $225,000 GLO grant through the Resilient Communities Program! This funding will help with future planning for our city and give us a better foundation for future projects and improvements.

Residents of Runge,

You will be receiving this letter in the mail in the coming days.
The city was not in compliance with the LSLI. This dates back to October of 2024.
Since learning about the situation, immediate action was taken to correct it. To correct the problem the city is completing the LSLI paperwork and turning it in along with sending residents a copy of this letter.

This is not an emergency and there is nothing wrong with the water and the water is safe to drink and use, as stated in the letter. This is a letter that is required to be sent to the residents, per TCEQ.

Everyone here at the city works hard everyday to make sure everything gets done and turned in before the deadline. That everything remains at safe levels.
We also strive to be as transparent as possible with situations like this, which is why we make this post.
We will ensure that something like this does not fall through the cracks again.

This week is our first full week of school. Traffic congestion should slow a bit, compared to the first couple of days, but will definitely still be there.

‼️REMINDER‼️
Reiffert St. (directly in front of the school) is a ONE WAY ONLY between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm! This goes for residents and teachers alike!

Tomorrow is the first day of school.

We want to remind everyone that the traffic may become congested around drop off and pick up times. Please be mindful of kids walking to and from school, not just tomorrow, but everyday.

Please note:
Reiffert St, directly in front of the school, is a ONE WAY only during school hours.
Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm, Reiffert St is strictly a one way. This only applies to the block section of Reiffert between Ojo Dr Agua and Salado.

🚨Update: leak has been repaired and all is back to normal.

The crew is currently working on a leak at Victoria St and Cleveland St.

Residents in the area may experience water pressure issues. We will work as quickly and as safely as possible.

Please avoid the area if possible.
Please respect all cones and barricades as they are there for your protection and the protection of our crew.

We had a great time at the First Annual Kid Cook-Off, and we hope all the kids enjoyed it too!

Congratulations to all the contestants, they all did extremely good and we are so proud of them.

Thank you Mayor Parker, Councilwoman Esparza and Councilman Nunez for bringing this fun event to the community for the kids to enjoy.
