🐕 Friendly reminder to all borough residents that dogs must be on chain, leash or behind a physical fence or wall when outside. (Electric fences do not count) We will be serving citations to violators.

🌱 Also, it is time get those w**d eaters and yard mowers up and running. Citations will be served to properties with overgrown grass.

Let's keep things tight and right in The Valley. Everyone needs to do their part to keep town safe and beautiful.

Thank you!

❄️ Winter Weather Reminder & Public Safety Notice ❄️

*This is a friendly reminder for during normal snow fall amounts. We understand that larger snow amounts can be hard to keep up with and we will have more patience for you to keep up with the heavy amounts of snow that falls. Dont worry, warnings will be given before fines and citations are given out.

Sheets of ice have formed on the sidewalk in front of many borough resident's main street properties. This ice can cause people to fall and become injured. It is the responsibility of the property owner to remove snow and ice so the walks are safe.

Borough Ordinance 1025.02 requires all property owners, tenants, or persons in control of property to remove snow and/or ice from sidewalks in front of or abutting their property. A minimum cleared path of 52 inches wide is required.

Snow and ice must be removed within 12 hours after the cessation of snowfall, sleet, or freezing rain. Please use salt or sand as needed to prevent hazardous conditions. Failure to comply may result in citations for ordinance violations. (Warnings/notices will be given to first time offenders)

Thank you for helping to keep our walk ways safe for everyone in the community!

Update: The vehicle and driver have been identified.

We understand not everyone views this behavior the same way, but unsafe vehicle operation in a public park especially one used by children is not acceptable.

🚔 Request for Public Assistance 🚔

This vehicle was observed operating in an unsafe manner in a parking lot and roadway before leaving the area.

The photos are limited, but the vehicle appears to be a dark colored GMC Sierra.

If you recognize this vehicle or have information regarding the driver, please message our page or call 724-783-7423.

UPDATE: Jason Bowser has turned himself in. Thank you for the tips and shares!

🚨 Warrant Wednesday…except it’s not Wednesday 🚨

The Rural Valley Police Department currently has an active warrant for:

JASON PAUL BOWSER
DOB: 12/15/1981

Charges:
• Forgery
• Bad Checks
• Theft by Deception

Jason has allegedly been a little too creative with his handwriting and a bit too generous with checks that apparently didn’t want to clear.

We’d like to have a conversation with him, preferably the in person kind.

If you know where Jason might be hanging out, give the Rural Valley Police Department a call at 724-783-7423 or contact Armstrong County 911.
