Celebrate Rochester Subway Day on June 27!

Join us June 27 at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum as we mark the 70th anniversary of the end of Rochester Subway service. Enjoy vintage diesel train rides, tour the largest collection of historic trains in New York State, see progress on the restoration of Subway Car 60, browse special exhibits, and shop exclusive event merchandise.

Experience a fascinating chapter of Rochester history and help support the preservation of the last surviving Rochester Subway car.

Another very busy volunteer Tuesday at the museum. Several volunteers are working to install the pilot beam and coupler on dispatch number five steam locomotive, as well as ongoing work on the Rochester subway car 60. Six of the seat frames have come back from sandblasting and powder coating as we work to reassemble several of the interior seats.
