This information is for any caregivers, friends and family who have been touched by Alzheimer's/dementia.

The Rushford Lions are sponsoring two sessions with Dr. Joseph Gaugler on January 15 at the Rushford Legion - one at 10-11:30 and the other at 1-2:30.

Dr. Gaugler has been on a statewide tour to help caregivers understand the disease and provide them with tools to deal with it. Details are in the attached flyer and press release.

Anyone can attend these free sessions. These are the only sessions that will be held in Fillmore County.

A great project with the City of Rushford, Minnesota along Rush Creek down at Creekside Park. Thanks to the city guys for all their help! Wood is being purchased to finish the bench. Go check it out!

We had a great visit from 1st Vice District Governor Pat Schlichenmeyer. Congratulations to Dale for receiving his 50 year pin as well! Thank you for your service!

It was a busy morning for the new Rushford Lions Club president Cathy Greeley.

A tour of the Semcac Food Shelf with Andrea Andreson. Cathy presented a check for $348 as a donation for the Food Shelf. The money was raised entirely by donations from popcorn sales. Jim and Jack O’Donnell led the fundraiser this summer at the city music series.

Andrea also helps to support the plastic recycling project.

Also pictured is Helen Peterson who visited with Cathy about the mission of Grace Place here in Rushford. Grace Place is a great place for all shoppers and serves the Rushford area as an excellent Thrift Store with treasures for almost everyone.

Cathy presented “Thank You” cards and gift certificates for the Rushford-Peterson gift store to RP seniors Monica and Megan. These two awesome students helped gather over 3,000 pounds of plastic this past year and deliver them to the Mower Recycling Center in Austin MN.

Over a 1,000 pounds delivered to the Mower County Recycling Center today. Mr Jacob Kramer, RP Biology teacher and “Go Green” advisor, with 7th Grader Abram Zibrowski and Rushford Lions Environmental coordinator Larry Bartelson.

We now have recycled more than 5,000 pounds from the Rushford and Peterson communities since we started in late 2022.

What a great team project!! Well done!

Past District Governor Jack Krage received a very special memento from the Rushford Lions Club.
Congrats to the Winona Lions Club on 90 years!
