Ms Morgan from the Russell Co Library joined us today with a beautiful book and craft to go along with the book. Each member made a jar with different beads. Each color bead represented a quality of how they see themselves. Each jar turned out unique and awesome. Just like it's owner.

Our IDD programming includes independent-living skill development and community-based activities. We turn everyday experiences into opportunities to learn:

💰 Budget Planning – Learning how to plan spending, understand needs versus wants, and make smart choices with money.

🛒 Decisive Shopping – Practicing how to make informed shopping decisions, compare choices, stay within a budget, and select the items needed.

🧼 Self-Care – Building routines that encourage personal hygiene, grooming, organization, and taking pride in oneself.

🤝 Building Trust – Creating relationships where members feel respected, supported, and confident. Trust helps individuals feel comfortable trying new things, making choices, and becoming more independent.

🧠 Making Learning Fun – Whether we're practicing money skills, preparing for a shopping trip, participating in the community, or working on daily routines, we believe learning should be hands-on and enjoyable.

At Active Day, small accomplishments can lead to big steps toward independence. We celebrate progress, encourage decision-making, and give each individual opportunities to discover what they can do.
