Aiming to always help local youth (See what we did there?), Mayor Eddie Thomas, on behalf of the City of Russell Springs, made a donation to 4-H Shooting Sports. Mayor Thomas said our younger citizens need to be encouraged in their endeavors, and know they have their community's support!

Joseph Smith Hays Memorial Pool Manager Scott Jones, Mayor Eddie Thomas, and Parks & Streets Supervisor Daniel Buster visited with participants in the Aqua Aerobics Class this morning. The City of Russell Springs provided a free breakfast for the participants. Russell County Hospital, its Physical Therapy department, and the city have collaborated to provide the popular class to the community for over 20 years.

City and county officials are participating in the 2026 Governor’s Local Issues Conference, hosted by the Department for Local Government. In its 50th year, the event, held at the Galt House, in Louisville, gives participants opportunities to attend training sessions and network with fellow leaders from across the state. In the accompanying photos, Mayor Eddie Thomas caught up with Gov. Andy Beshear, who was the keynote speaker at a Thursday luncheon. Russell Springs Parks and Streets Supervisor Daniel Buster and Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum visited during a break in the activities. Mayor Thomas took in some of the scenery-which included the legendary Belle of Louisville docked at the Galt House. The mayor hopes to bring back ideas and innovations to serve citizens even better as Russell Springs continues to pave a path to progress.

There will be a boil water advisory for the following areas until further notice:

West Highway 80, beginning at 1413 West Highway 80 and continuing to the Adair County line
