Visiting National Parks
The National Parks Lifetime Pass for seniors is a great way to stay active at very little cost. Purchasing a lifetime pass grants access to all National Parks, and in many cases your companions can enter on your pass! What is a Total Solar Eclipse?
A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes in front of the sun. When this occurs a shadow (the umbra) is cast over the area in its path. This is the first total eclipse to pass over the entire continental US since we were founded. The umbra or path of totality is about 70 miles wide and 3,000 long, running across the nation from Oregon to South Carolina in about 90 minutes. If you aren’t in the direct path, you’re in the penumbra and will still be able to see a partial solar eclipse. Whether in the path of the total eclipse or partial, remember to wear certified safety glasses labeled ISO 12312-2 or ISO 12312-2:2015.

What Can You Do?
Opioid use and abuse is having a negative impact on our community. What can you do? When you are prescribed an opioid, talk to your doctor about other options for pain control. Non-opioid pain medication, physical therapy, and cognitive/behavioral therapy can often prove to be effective ways to manage pain.
