We are grateful to share that our brother, Tim Foley, is home from the hospital and continuing his recovery after sustaining injuries while fighting a fire at his own residence.

Tim has faithfully served the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department and has always been willing to answer the call when others needed help. Now, it is our turn to lift him up with our prayers, encouragement, and support as he heals.

This incident serves as an important reminder of how quickly fire emergencies can happen and why it is critical to always be prepared, practice fire safety, and remain cautious around any fire situation.

Fire Chief Bobby Johnson stated, “Tim is one of the most dedicated volunteer firefighters I have ever had the privilege to serve alongside. We are thankful that his injuries were not worse, and we ask everyone to keep Tim and his family in your prayers as he continues to recover. His experience is a reminder that fire can be unpredictable, and safety must always come first.”

Please join us in praying for a full and speedy recovery for Tim. We look forward to seeing him back with his fire department family when he is ready.

Tomorrow starts Crusade for Children and Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department was out today and will be out all weekend collecting at the intersection of 127/80 Be a hero come by donate to a good cause. 100% of all donations go to Crusade for Children

With Memorial Day approaching, the City of Russell Springs, in conjunction with the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department, will hold a Flag Raising Ceremony this Wednesday, May 20, 10 a.m. at the H.M. Bottom Firehouse on West Steve Wariner Drive. The event is an opportunity to honor the flag, the community, and those who protect and serve the general populace. Mayor Eddie Thomas and the Russell Springs City Council invite the public to attend and participate.

The Russell Springs Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Campbellsville Kroger store for donating donuts to our firefighters this morning.

Even though they’re about 40 minutes away, they still took the time to support our department, and that means a lot to us. It’s a great reminder that neighbors matter, no matter the distance.

We truly appreciate the kindness and support shown to our firefighters and our community.

We just wanted to remind everyone about our Russell County First Responders Picnic on Saturday, May 9th from 11 am until 2 pm at Russell Springs Elementary School. We are less than a week away! We look forward to seeing all of our First Responders and their families! Please like and share so that we can reach everyone.

5/2/26 , Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department would like to give a shout out and thank you to Kentucky Fire Commission District 14 for a day of great training as firefighters improved their safe driving skills. Firefighters were graded on their performance and all 17 passed. Thank you to the Russell County Stock Yards for allowing us to use your parking lot for this training to help our firefighters keep our community safe.
