Congratulations Officer Cherry!

Police Officer Isaac Cherry graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center today after 14 weeks of training. Officer Cherry also received the academy’s fitness award.

Officer Cherry will resume his field training this next week with Officer Isaiah Stierlen and Officer Scott McAdoo.

Stay weather aware today for the potential of severe storms. The weather to start the day should be cool and cloudy and this will keep the initial thunderstorm threat down. By this evening, warmer air and increasing moisture will combine with a storm system that will lead to thunderstorm development. Storms are capable of producing hail larger than 2 inches, damaging winds, and tornadoes can't be ruled out.

According the Fire Danger Index through next Wednesday (3.18.26), the numbers will reach the High - Very High range. This will mean NO controlled burns in the near future will be authorized by dispatch.
