Logan County Kentucky Property Owners:

If you haven’t already, you will soon receive your 2025 Logan County Property Tax bill. As a reminder, tax bills are sent to the person, or entity, that owned the property on Jan. 1, 2025, regardless of any agreement that may have been negotiated between the buyer and seller during a transaction.

If you are age 65 or older, turn 65 during this calendar year, or are 100% disabled, you are entitled to the Homestead Exemption. We encourage you to visit us at the Logan County Property Valuation Administration (PVA) office before you pay your property tax bill, and sign up for this (if you aren’t already getting it). For 2025, this exemption applies to the first $49,100 of your property’s assessment. Keep in mind, you must own and occupy the home to receive the discount. It can only be used on your primary residence. Also, if applying as disabled, you must have been classified as totally disabled under a program authorized or administered by an agency of the United States government, or any retirement system located within or outside of Kentucky. Furthermore, the homeowner must have been receiving payments pursuant to his/her disability for the entire assessment period. If you already paid your property tax bill, no problem; we can get you a refund if you qualify.

Remember, Logan County Property Tax bills are paid at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. The first day for payment is October 1st. If you have any questions regarding your property assessment, or the Homestead Exemption, please contact the Logan County Property Valuation Administrator’s office, at 270-726-8334 or visit our office at 206 W. 4th Street, Russellville.
