This is Ainars! He is a college student from Europe doing his fun summer internship in Russellville. He just checked in with the Russellville so he will be going to be going door to door in our city. Don’t be alarmed, he is very friendly. He is selling educational tools such as books, websites and apps for kids from toddler age up to high schoolers. This is a job that he is doing to pay off his college tuition back home in his country. He is from a small country called Latvia. If you see him in the city give him a wave.

Today, our department had the honor of providing Honor Guard services for a fellow Law Enforcement Officer as he was laid to rest. It was a privilege to stand in honor and pay tribute to the life and service of Sergeant Heath Lewis.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the Double Springs Police Department during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Sergeant Lewis.
