Last week, our senior officers had the incredible opportunity to travel to Texas for their Agricultural Experience Trip. Throughout the week, they explored a variety of agricultural operations, learned from industry leaders, and experienced some of Texas’s most notable attractions.

The trip began with a tour of Viagen, a state-of-the-art animal cloning facility. Students had the unique opportunity to sit down with company president Blake Russell and ask questions about the cloning industry and agricultural innovation. Following the tour, Blake and his wife generously welcomed the group to their personal ranch, giving students an inside look at ranch management and livestock production.

On the second day, the officers traveled to Fort Worth, where they spent the morning exploring the city and learning about its rich western heritage. That afternoon, the group visited Waco, touring the famous Silos and the Dr Pepper Museum before ending the day with some friendly competition at Topgolf.

Day three included attending church and a special tour of Texas A&M University led by Dr. Vincent, a former University of Kentucky agriculture professor. Students gained valuable insight into college life and agricultural education opportunities. That evening, the officers put their communication and teamwork skills to the test during an escape room challenge.

On the final day, the group traveled to Austin, beginning the morning with a scenic hike before touring the Texas State Capitol. The officers also visited the Bullock Texas State History Museum and enjoyed authentic Tex-Mex cuisine before heading to the airport for their flight home.

This trip provided our senior officers with valuable agricultural experiences, we are grateful to everyone who helped make this experience possible!
